How to check if a record matches the one in the database?

I’m making a login screen, I want to validate the fields by verifying that the data entered
by the user exists or not, if it exists, it will have access to the home page, otherwise it will not pass

Can someone help me?

Another good start point would be to type “login” into the search function on the forum. You will get loads of information and ideas.
