Is it possible to pull a record from a data resource using the dropdown selected value

I want to use the selected value from a dropdown to grab a record which has matching criteria from one data resource and place it into another (forming a list). Basically, build a list from different dropdown taps.

If this is possible, please be as detailed as possible.

I ended up using a data variable then used a formula to save to the resource.
